San Diego!

Mike and I got the opportunity to fly to San Diego last week for a little R&R away from the kids. It was so great to get away! We had the best time!
Zachary calls these clouds 'cotton candy clouds' so this pic was for him that we took out of the plane window.
We had the most beautiful weather. 69 degrees each day and just perfect! This is the beautiful downtown of San Diego.

We took a 2 hour Harbor Cruise and it was amazing! The military ships and bases were so incredible.

Sea Lions out in the harbor

Some of the many helicopters and planes you could see

We had to get a picture of this huge Dole ship full of bananas sailing next to us

One of the many ships that we saw. They are so amazingly huge!

We got to see the Navy Seals in action, training in the bay.

We also went to Balboa Park, which was absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful buildings and museums, fountains and gardens

And this was one of the restaurants that is seen in Top Gun. So cool.

We had such a fabulous time...it went by so fast! Thanks mom for staying with the kids for us!!

Mother's Day Gifts

I love Mother's Day. I am so lucky to have such amazing children. I am so very blessed. God could not have given me a better family. I am also blessed too for my mom who is such a great grandma to my kids.

Kylie found the ribbon off the boys' presents they made me.

The boys made me these handprints at preschool. I love them! They are so proud of them and keep carrying them around the house until I catch them and make them set them down. : )

My sweet father-in-law sent me these beautiful flowers to recognize me for Mother's Day. They are beautiful and I was very thankful for his generous gift and for remembering me on this day.

And I got to get a pedicure today! So excited! I got an hour to myself to read, got beautiful toes, and am now ready for our trip to California next week!

Just had to throw these pics in....my irises are blooming in the front yard. Here's a few of them....

My cute kids

Ah, my little girl is into everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. And she can get there fast...faster than I can catch her, most of the time. And she wants to be wherever the boys are! And she loves being with them while they are in the bath tub. I keep trying to distract her but she just races into the tub and pulls herself up.

Tonight I tried to distract her with laundry (she loves to play in it and roll around in it) but she still just raced back into the bathroom.

So I decided to put one of Mike's shirts over her and let her figure out how to get out of that while the boys finished their bath.

What a cutie-pie I have! She'll be 9 months old on Saturday.

Preschool Career Day

Mike was asked to speak at the boys' preschool's Career Day. So many of the kids want to be police officers 'when they grow up' so it was really neat that they asked Mike to come in. The boys were sooooo excited. They asked me every day for almost 2 weeks if it was time for daddy to come to class yet.

About 30 minutes before we had to go to the school, I heard Mike out in the garage. I went out to see what he was doing, and he was shining his boots. I said, 'um, are you shining your boots for the 3, 4, and 5 year olds? I promise they won't know the difference.' He said 'of course I'm shining my boots! I need to look my best!'

The School Resource Officer there at the school brought her police car up so that the kids could take a close look at the patrol car too.

Zachary loves his teachers at school. This one in particular. In fact, he was telling me Thursday night about how much he 'likes my pretty teacher who wore pink today.' Oh boy.....

The tables are so tiny in the classroom (obviously). So Mike just got down on the floor on his knees. I thought it was so cool that even though it is so tough for him to get down so low, he tried really hard to be so close to the kids.
