Wish Me Luck

The four kids and I are going to the beach this weekend with my parents and my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike unfortunately has to work. I really like my house. I like my routine in my own little world. I am feeling challenged slightly about this trip, about the boys sleeping in their pack'n plays that they can now climb out of, about a 3 story house and not knowing what to expect with how the boys will do. But I need to get over it as we will have a great time and I need to learn to 'go with the flow' with the boys. So send good thoughts my way and wish me luck. Pictures to follow next week!

Hi, Bye, Kisses, and Sleepy Feet

I just had to get a picture of this. Zachary is so Mike's child. Look at how he's sleeping! When I peeked in the door, I had to race for the camera. I would not think this would be very comfortable!!!
And then I just had to post these videos. I just love watching the boys wave their little hands and blow kisses!

New play area - go Daddy!

Bless the maker of Baby Einstein, for it is the only type of tv my children will watch. No Disney, no Sesame Street, no nothing, except Baby Einstein. Which is probably a great thing in the long run....more play, less tv. But, a video every now and then doesn't hurt. But when they do want to watch a video, it takes up half of the tv's in our house, since we only had 2, and everyone else above the age of 1 did not seem as enthused about watching Baby Einstein. So Mike decided that we needed a little 'toddler' area with a VHS tv just for the boys to watch the occasional video. Our bonus room is done in Crayola colors, red, blue, and yellow, so he wanted to build a little cabinet for the boys to match.
He and Matthew and Kathryn worked diligently over the last 2 days and I am quite pleased with the outcome. The boys now have their own little video/play area.
Isn't it cute???
Thanks, Daddy!

At Grandma and Grandpa's house

Last weekend, we had a family BBQ at my parents' house. It was such beautiful weather and the kids had so much fun! Grandpa set the badmitten net up and everyone got in on the action.
The boys are quite the little helpers!
Ready!

Grandma has a really bad habit of giving Tyler coffee, which he loves.
The boys were standing outside the pool, then falling in backwards, which they thought was just hilarious!

Creations of Love

I have become addicted to taking the boys and Kathryn (and even Matthew once!) to Create A Memory to make creations for gifts. The boys have so much fun with the paint and I just love that their 'creativeness' is captured for all time.
For my birthday, Aunt Trish took the boys to make me this platter. I love it!!! It has their handprints, along with their lovely smearing/painting all over. I can't wait to use it over and over!
The boys made this for Mike for Father's Day. We are now using it for a candle holder in our bedroom. All of the scratches in the paint are courtesy of Tyler, who loved to scrape on it with the tips of the brushes, and Zachary didn't want to touch the paint so he 'sponged' this to death. I love having the memories of the boys making each piece!

Almost 2

My, how time flies. The boys will be two next month! I can hardly believe it. They are really growing into such little men. So sweet. Yesterday we took them to get haircuts as we're doing photos this weekend. I couldn't quite get them to sit still and 'pose' for me but at least you can get a general idea.

Quirky!

Zachary is so quirky. He is so much like me. He will probably be diagnosed some day with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder like his mother (although I am undiagnosed but ask anyone that knows me well and they'll say I have it!). He is just such the organizer. And if he does something once, he'll do it over and over again. His latest trick is to open his closet door where he has his little car garage set up and stuff the elevator chute with diapers. He does this constantly! I'll come in, find the diaper holder empty, and go straight to the closet. Why he does this I have no idea. I don't know where he even figured out how to do it, but, he does it time and time again.

What quirky things to do you or your kids do?

Monopoly

Do you dread the game of Monopoly as much as I? Seriously, the game could go on for days! Well, Matthew broke out the Monopoly board last night and today we taught Kathryn how to play. It was a bit of a challenge with the boys around because one child (gee, guess who) just loves to organize and he of course thought the board needed constant organization. So, we put him in charge of the houses and hotels.
See how he has them separated into such beautiful piles and is putting them in order on the instruction board?
And then we taught him how to kiss the dice and roll. Soooooo cute!!!
You'd think he was in charge, wouldn't ya?
He thinks he is! He's even showing Tyler how to play!!!

Two Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed

Isn't there a book about monkeys jumping in the bed? That's what this reminded me of. If you notice, Zach is in Tyler's crib and Tyler is in Zach's crib. They both wanted in each other's beds (because I'm sure the difference is so completely overwhelming since they are identical???) and they jumped up and down for quite some time!
