Matthew's first collegiate game

One of the most memorable days of my life, ever.  Matthew, as a true freshman, is playing for Eastern Washington University.  He is #94.  His first collegiate game was at OSU this last weekend.  It was surreal walking into that stadium and seeing him out there.  We all just screamed and screamed!  It was so cool.  After warm-ups when he walked by us on his way to the locker room and he waved, Mike and I both cried.  We were so happy to see him out there doing what he loves.  Here's a bunch of pictures from before, during and after the game.  Also, I included the video of his first collegiate play.  He got in on the 3rd defensive play.  So exciting!  And, even more exciting.....and unexpected......EWU won!!!  It was one of the greatest games I have ever seen.  I am so proud of Matthew and so happy for him.  These are not necessarily in order and are a combination of pictures from 3 different people / cameras.

Matthew made it in the Oregonian newspaper the next day!

After the game - and of course I am crying again!

Coach Sawyer, Matthew's defensive coach, came over to speak to us after the game.  That meant so much to us.  One of the things we loved instantly about EWU was the feeling of 'family' amongst the football team and they really have shown that they are one big family.

Warm-ups before the game.

Matthew is the one in the front right with his knee held up in the picture above, and down below he is the 2nd guy in with his head raised.
