Easter 2012

We've had a busy week! On Thursday, Tyler took Papa to school for his Sharing Day as the theme was Construction: Let's Build. Papa brought a whole bag full of tools and his safety vest and hard hat, and he spoke to the kids about building and laying brick. It was very cute and Tyler was so excited to take him.

We had a wonderful Easter. He is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Yesterday we went to an Easter Egg hunt in Molalla and had a wonderful time.

Kylie didn't really get into it this year...she was more focused on said Easter Bunny below. As soon as she saw the bunny, she forgot completely about the eggs.

She did still manage to snag a few though. :)

The boys on the other hand were all about the eggs! I love how Tyler took off from the start line and lifted his basket over this little girl as he carefully darted around her. :)

Zach is in the grey hoodie on the right bending down to get an egg. It was mass chaos.

Had a great time, and the weather totally cooperated, which was great!

Today we had a really low-key Easter day. I didn't even have to cook much, and didn't have Easter at my house. Mike had to work the night before so we went to the 10am service, then headed to our dear neighbors' house for a wonderful Easter dinner. Mike had to work again this afternoon, so the kids and I played outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Kylie had the most gorgeous dress this year. I absolutely love it. I wanted to get a decent picture of her, but every time I tried to take one, she had to do this silly face, the little stinker! Tyler really wanted to get a picture with her, but he wouldn't give me the smile. Oh well, at least he somewhat posed!

Spring Break Coast Trip 2012

We were able to head to Depot Bay for 4 days towards the end of Spring Break to our time share. It was terrible, terrible weather, but we still had a really good time. The unit was 2 bedrooms with a sleeper sofa, so the first night, Kathryn and Kylie slept in the 2nd bedroom, and Tyler slept on the sofa bed with Matthew. We got creative and pushed the two chairs together and made Zach a great bed.

Pretty much all we did was swim. And swim. And swim again. Luckily all of the kids love to swim.

This was the view from our unit. It was absolutely amazing.

I just love this picture because it shows how long Kylie's hair really is. Her ponytail is so cute!

We walked down thru Depot Bay one day and saw a seal or two, bought some taffy, and had to of course get some caramel corn.

All in all, a great Spring Break! But now I am ready for some SUN!!!

SIlly Picture Night

Awww, I just had to take this picture of the girls snuggling. It really amazes me that even though they are just about 10 years apart in age, they really are the best of friends.

Tonight the kids thought it would be fun to take some silly pictures. You will notice Zachary is wearing his T-ball hat and his new undershirt. This is the first year the boys are playing T-ball, and their team is the Dodgers. He was super excited that I found matching undershirts on clearance at Target tonight so he put it on over his PJ's, silly kid.

By looking at these pictures, you would think the boys never eat with as skinny as they are. But, trust me, they DO eat! Tonight at Walery's Pizza, Tyler downs 6, yes SIX, pieces of pizza.

Zach took these last two pictures. Such sweet kiddos. As much as they drive me crazy sometimes, I am blessed every single day that God entrusted them to me.

Gosh, when did my baby girl turn into this big girl with crazy long hair?

Lady A!!

My favorite country group right now is Lady Antebellum. Absolutely love them. I could listen to them all day long, and usually do when I am at work. They came to Eugene last night with Thompson Square (great!) and Darius Rucker (from Hootie & the Blowfish...come on peeps...remember them?). I really don't care for Darius...he is talented, but in my opinion just so not country, but I put up with him to see Lady A. I took my mom for her birthday as well. It was a great night. We headed down (in about 6 inches of snow) to a fun dinner at El Torito and then over to Matthew Knight Arena for the concert. This is my friend Lori and I. I have known her my entire life and it has been really fun to reconnect. Her friend made us these shirts!

Apparently every time Lori takes a picture of me, I close my eyes. Sorry about that.

We had AMAZING seats!! It was absolutely the most incredible concert ever! It was definitely an unforgettable night!

OMSI

Mike and I took the little kids to OMSI on Saturday. We stayed for 5 hours and finally drug them out to go eat something, but we probably could have stayed another 5. Such a fun place! The only picture I got (because I didn't bring my camera...oops) was them in this space pod thingy. They are all laying on their backs like they are flying in space. Too cute!

Matthew turns 17!!!

Good golly, I have no idea how this happened. He was 5 when I met him and 9 when Mike and I were married, and now he is SEVENTEEN!!! I am in major denial that he will be moving out in a year and a half. It is going to be such a hard adjustment for all of us, and I am really dreading the upset of the little kids, so we are trying to enjoy every moment that we can now!

For Matthew's birthday, I put together a football photo album for him starting with his sophomore year of varsity and then junior year and there is still tons of room for his senior year and also college.

I also made him this shadow box for his wall.

Zach wrote on this envelope: "I LOVE MATTHEW" and then tried to draw a heart. : )

We had some friends over for pizza and cake and presents.

This is my mom and dad. If you remember a few posts ago, I talked about my dad having both of his knees replaced, at the same time, on January 23rd. Yep, this is him standing in my kitchen with no crutches or support. I hadn't seen him up and moving much in a month and when he came down Sunday, he was a tiny bit slow, but otherwise you would have never knows he'd just had his knees replaced! We were teasing that he is about 2 inches taller now with his new knees and un-bowed legs.

Sisters....these 2 love each other so much!

The kids loved helping Matthew open his presents and enjoyed seeing all of his football photos

Mike gave Matthew his own tool bag with essentials and also necessities for his car. Along with some stylish safety goggles.
