The State Fair....and the end of summer.

Well, we made our annual trip to the State Fair, which to me always signified the end of summer and the start of school.....and yep it still does.  The boys start all-day school next week.  I'm not going to lie....I am sad.  Most people are so excited when their kids go to school all day, but I knew that my goal in life was to stay home with my kids as much as possible and now I am going to miss them!!!  Anyway, back to the fair....we had a wonderful time with my parents and these pictures pretty much sum up our crazy little family.

Spoiled Birthday Girl!

Kylie and I had a great birthday together while Kathryn and the boys were at camp.  We had her friend Elliette with us, who is 2, and we got her a free birthday drink at Dutch Bros, we went to Toys R Us so she could spend a gift card she received and she got a crown and a balloon, then off to meet our wonderful friend and neighbor for lunch at Applebees where she got a free hot fudge sundae.  Not bad for the first day of being 4!  Happy Birthday Kylie!!!

Camp Memories

I am so grateful for church camp.  This has been a wonderful week for Zachary and Tyler, and also for Kathryn who went as a counselor.  It has been amazing to watch her mentor the young children and to have them reach out to her for help with their lives and in understanding God.  The boys too have made so many friends and learned stories of God and his wisdom and mercy.  Plus they have just had a ton of fun!  I am so thankful that they have these memories.  Zachary is already asking how many days until camp next year.

So many things, so little time to post......

Wow....less than one month until school starts.  How did that happen??  We have had such a busy summer and let me tell you, it has just flown by!  I'm going to try to basically sum up our summer in one big post.  :)

My baby girl is getting big.  Turning 4 this week.  Crazy.  She got a new dress for the summer and she loves being all dolled up with her hair curled.  She was showing off at church for me.

We took a trip to OMSI last month when we dropped Matthew at the Greyhound station after the 4th of July weekend.  Zachary spent quite a bit of time working on these circuits and trying to make the fans blow.  He got all 3 fans working on one closed circuit.  As you can see, he was so excited!
One morning I went in to see if the boys were up for the day.  This is how I found Tyler: he pulled his hamper over to their dresser and was sitting on it while he played his Kindle.  Silly boy!
Our dear friends Sandi and Irvin have an amazing house and pool with an incredible deck.  We took advantage one hot summer day and took some friends with us to enjoy some swim time.

 Lunch time!

We got another surprise 2 weeks ago....Matthew came home for his dead week!  We didn't think we'd be seeing him again for at least a few months so it was wonderful to have him home!  And he was able to stay for a few weeks and be here for Kylie's birthday party too.  He headed back two days ago and today was his 1st official college football practice.  He now officially also lives in a dorm.
Kylie went and had a few nights with Grandma and Grandpa all by herself, which she absolutely loves.  I decided to take advantage of that and took the boys and 4 friends to the movies.  It was great!
Last weekend, Ace Hardware in West Salem had pony rides and snow cones.  Random, right?  But it was fun!  The boys each rode the pony, but Kylie opted to just pet one and eat her snow cone.

Last Saturday we had Mike's work picnic at the park.  They had some great games and prizes for kids, and yummy food.

This last weekend we celebrated Kylie!  She is turning 4 years old on August 8th.  We had a Dora the Explorer birthday party this year, complete with huge princess castle bouncy house.  It was a hot day, but it was very fun!

And now.....the boys are at church camp this week.  They have to be to church by 7am (OMG) and don't get back until 4:30pm.  They are having so much fun!  Kathryn is there as a Junior Counselor and she is having a blast too.  She snapped these pictures for me of Zachary in the canoe.  So cute!

And that, my friends, is why I have not posted in awhile!  Happy Summer!
