Eastern Washington University - HERE HE COMES!

This month has been crazy.  And that is putting it mildly.  It has been one of the most crazy, stressful, fun, exciting, stressful, crazy months of my life.  And I was just along for the ride!  This month was all about Matthew, in a good way.  He has been scouted and recruited for years because of football, and this is the month for official visits and narrowing down the choices.  Signing Day is February 6th.  Matthew is one of the most amazing people there is.  I don't know how he can deal with getting dozens of phone calls from coaches each day and coaches showing up at school to visit him and coming to our home to visit while still working, dealing with school work, helping out around the house and with his siblings...like I said, he's amazing.  But he has earned everything that has come to him this month.  He has worked tirelessly to be in a position where because of football, his college is being paid for.  And I mean 100% paid for.  He is going to get an amazing education and come out with a degree and in the mean time be able to do what he loves and tear it up on the football field.  What an amazing opportunity.  To say that I am proud is an understatement.  BURSTING AT THE SEAMS from being so proud is more like it.  Today he picked the school where he will be attending.  Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, about 12 miles out of Spokane.  They have an AMAZING football program.  And more importantly, I loved the coaches that make up the heart of that program.  I feel good knowing that Matthew will be taken care of by them.  He isn't just another 'player', he is a person who is going to make their team better.  These are some pictures we took from our official visit to Eastern Washington University as well as some pictures from today when Matthew gave his verbal commitment.
These are pictures of posters we took in the hotel where we stayed and on the campus.  These posters are all over the town.  Cheney definitely supports their Eagles!

This is their new scoreboard they got.  The sound system is unbelievable.  EWU is building a new stadium which should be done about 2015 and it is going to be so unbelievably cool.

Like the red turf?  I wasn't sure at first but it is really cool!

 He loves the snow
 The campus was absolutely beautiful.

Mike took pictures of the food, of course  :)

These are 2 of the coaches from EWU.  I really love these guys.  Coach Hill and Coach Sawyer.  Coach Sawyer will be Matthew's direct defensive coach.

This is Matthew calling and telling Head Coach Baldwin that he wants to be an Eagle.

If you know us at all, you know how perfect this camo hat is for Matthew.

This is one of their helmets...so cool!  This is up by the locker rooms at the school.
CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW!  You have earned it and deserve it.  Enjoy the ride, buddy!

Christmas Tidbits

Wow, am I late on posting Christmas pictures or what?!?!?  This is a total hodge podge of December photos because I am too lazy to move them around and organize them.   Kylie took this picture of Tyler.
Tyler took this picture of Zach and our Elf on the Shelf, Ellie.
I took these pictures of Miss Kylie in her Christmas dress with the beautiful curls in her hair, courtesy of Kathryn.

 Christmas morning stockings

Christmas Day presents with big sis

I probably bought a few too many presents this year!!

Matthew got a set of luggage so he is all prepared for college although I am in COMPLETE denial about him moving off to college soon.

Kathryn took these pictures of our silly cat, Titan.  She thought he looked like an otter.

Matthew got Tyler a Lite Brite for Christmas. I had a Lite Brite when I was a kid!  He loves it.
