Coolin' Off

Last Sunday it was such a beautiful day, so we headed (well, more like invaded) to Sandi and Irvin's house to BBQ and swim. Tyler found these lovely goggles and thought the world looked more interesting in blue. I couldn't believe how long he wore them!
Sandi has these great windchimes which the boys have discovered. Zachary just can't keep his hands off! He loves making noise with them!

Tyler had fun in the new floatie

And after swimming you of course have to have a huge popsicle!

And then you have to wash up in the doggie water bucket!
And have a little swingin' time with Grandpa!

And this last video just cracks me up. Isn't it funny what we as adults will do to entertain a child? Or just have fun with them???

Who, me???

I had to share these with you. This is Tyler's 'Who, me?' face. He gives me this look when he knows he's doing something he's not supposed to and he tries to get all sad and reflective so as not to get into trouble.
He knew it was almost time for bed since he had to get his jammies on, so he raced into my bedroom, threw all of the pillows on the floor, and climbed right in, then gave me 'the look'. Sorry bud, no luck. You're not sleeping in my bed!!!
And just a few sweet photos of Zachary for you.
He's playing with daddy's air pump kit.

And Zachary is all about naming 'eyes, nose, mouth, and ears' lately so I had to catch it while I could.

Long-overdue vacation

Mike and I just returned from a much-needed 3 day vacation! We went to Belknap Hotsprings on the McKenzie River just for some 'alone time'. It was great! We stopped on the drive there and hiked into Sahalie Falls, as you see below.
Then we went to our lodge. This is a view of the beautiful river.
This is the view from our room. You can barely see the hotsprings pool in the low left corner. It was over 100 degrees and we really couldn't stand it during the day when the sun was out. We usually went in at night when the outside temp was cooler.

At the hotsprings, there are tons of gardens and hiking trails so we wandered out quite a bit to see the gardens.
Here is Mike holding up the roses.
A view of the lodge from across the bridge

We also did some hiking up to Proxy Falls, which was great. So beautiful! And on the last morning, we rafted the McKenzie River. It was so fantastic and fun to get away. It's amazing what just a short break from the kids and every day life can do for you.
And last but not least, we had a jacuzzi tub in our room. I, forgetting about the jacuzzi part, thought it would be great to have a bubble bath. So in the soap goes. When Mike hit the jacuzzi button, the bubbles went crazy! I made Mike hop in and snapped a picture before he could protest. I figured I would NEVER again get a picture of him in a bubble bath. And he would die if he knew I put this on here. But that's half the fun!

Slippin' and a Slidin'

Children are so fun and entertaining, aren't they??? Yes, my boys are naked in the back yard. I know, I know....please don't say it. I never thought I'd let my kids run around naked, but that was before I became a mom!

Tonight we improvised and put the slide in the pool, which the boys thoroughly enjoyed, especially Tyler, as seen in the first video! But, in the second video, you will see that Zachary takes matters into his own hands when his brother takes too long.
