Grandpa has a big head!

For Memorial Day, I took the boys to my parents' house for the day since Daddy was working. We had a great time having a BBQ and planting a garden! Well, actually, grandma and grandpa planted the garden and we watched. The boys got to chase around their dog Taffy and play on the blanket in the yard.
The boys decided to try on grandpa's hat....
Zachary knows he looks pretty darn cute....
Tyler on the other hand isn't too sure about this hat thing.....
Poor guy! This has to be about the saddest face ever! He recovered quickly though and we had a fabulous day. I am so thankful that Zachary and Tyler's Grandpa Miles and Grandma Mariann love them so much!

Swimming, Eating, and Sleeping......

My little boys are tired! We have done so much this weekend! Zach and Tyler were so tired that they actually fell asleep on the bed!
First, on Friday when I got home from my one work day of the week, we went outside with Dad and did some gardening and watering. Since it was so warm, the boys got to eat frozen bananas, which they love! Discovering that the boys love to eat frozen bananas in their mesh feeders was a great thing for me. I can get a good 30 minutes of something done while they eat away! So this time they got frozen bananas outside!
Then Saturday morning we went to our swimming lessons! The boys love to swim. Well, I guess 'swim' isn't the right word. Be held in the water by Mommy and Sandi is more like it! They love to splash around.
Here Zach is holding himself up on the wall all by himself! Tyler is more fascinated by the ring than anything else.
And of course since his brother did it, Tyler now had to show us how he can hold himself up on the wall also!

A day in the yard....

Since the weather was so beautiful today, I decided to take the boys for a walk in the stroller. We then had a party in the back yard with Snickers, our dog. The boys love Snickers! It was really fun to watch them interact with him. This was our first party in the back yard. They weren't too sure what to think about the grass, so we pretty much stayed on the blanket.
As I was sitting in the yard today, I was looking at my beautiful babies and thinking about what a miracle they are. I am so blessed to be their mother!
Snickers brought them his soccer ball.
Zach got his 3rd tooth today so he is chewing on his finger.
I don't think he knows what to think about this party.....
Tyler doesn't know what to think either....
Tyler was feeling the grass with his feet. Aren't baby feet so cute???

What a busy day!

Aren't weekends supposed to be restful??? That's not the case when you have 4 children! Saturday Matthew had a LaCrosse game, Kathryn had a softball game, and we had swimming lessons for Zachary and Tyler. On top of this, Mike had to work for several hours.

After swimming lessons, since I was without Mike's help, I decided to put the boys in the bathtub together. It was quite fun! They just kept looking at each other, probably thinking 'You are ALWAYS wherever I am! Don't you ever go away?' But they had fun splashing each other and eating the sponges.

Zachary and Tyler's first bath together

On top of all of that, we of course had to play! Kathryn decided to play with a play-doh kit that she got for her birthday last month. It wasn't until about an hour into her playing that we realized that play-doh was EVERYWHERE! Ground into the chairs at the table, the carpet, stuck to the floor, between the tiles of the table, all over my bedroom...how did this happen? Anyhow, Kathryn decided to make us jewelry. Here we are wearing our play-doh bracelets and necklaces.

Yet another birthday come and gone....

Yesterday I turned 28 years old. Although it was a great birthday, it became so apparent to me that now that I have children, they are 100% the focus of my life, even on my special day. My birthday was just another day: I still changed poopie diapers, I still had to work, I still had all of those other things that adults have to do, even on their birthdays!
My coworkers made my work day extra special though. They got me a watermelon cake! It was the coolest cake I've ever had. It was decorated as though it was a slice of watermelon! And we had Hawaiian punch, with pretty cups and napkins. It was as though we had our own little class party! Thank you Sheila and Tracy for making my day extra special at work.
After work, we all went to Kathryn's softball game. My parents got to come too! Kathryn played very well and even hit a home run! After the game, we went out to dinner. The boys were getting tired at that point and we had a minor diaper accident, but all in all, we survived. Then it was home for balloons, presents, and a wonderful dessert that my mother made.
I am so thankful that my boys have wonderful grandparents, and that I have an awesome family. Thank you mom, dad, Michael, Matthew, and Kathryn for a very special 28th birthday.
Here's Tyler shaking his toy at the ball field.
Here's Kathryn as the second baseman.

Here's grandma, Taffy, and Tyler enjoying the game.

Grandpa and Zachary do a bit of bonding at the game.

I didn't know Puffs could be so entertaining!

Well, the Sommer household is not too fun right now. Both boys and mom have nasty colds. I have never gone through so many kleenexes in my life! The boys are just miserable and it seems as though there is not much that I can do to comfort them. I have not had much sleep this last week, and neither have they. Here you can tell they look a little out of it.But, despite that, we did have some fun yesterday! I introduced them to the dissolvable Puffs. My boys absolutely LOVE food. They take after their father. Tyler will eat anything, and he just wants massive amounts of whatever it is. So he was completely thrilled to have something else to eat! And, he easily fed himself! But after we were done, I found Puffs stuck places on his body for about the next two hours! He had them in his hair, in his ear, stuck to his back...I have no idea how he did it!
Zachary on the other hand wasn't too sure what to do with the Puffs. Each bite he just looked at me like I was torturing him. Each time a piece would go in his mouth, he would puff up his cheeks with air, and blow through sealed lips, making this spitting / blowing sound. It was absolutely hysterical! He also decided that it was fun to throw the puffs on the floor and watch mommy pick them up.

We will have to try some more Puffs again today and see what happens!

My First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was so wonderful! Tyler woke up extra early (6:30am) to say good morning. Then my husband brought me my favorite breakfast in bed....2 donuts! A maple bar and an apple fritter. Along with a beautiful vase of purple tiger lilies. I also got a frying pan! I'm not sure how that one works into Mother's Day, but I needed it so it's all good.
That afternoon after naptime, Michael, the boys and I went to Sears and had photos taken. I wanted to have pictures to look back on to remember this day.
We then went to our friends Sandi and Irvin's house where we had a fabulous dinner. The boys got to sit at the dinner table with us and ate baby food. They also played with spoons and Sandi found a new toy for them - a small spatula. All in all, it was a fantastic day.
After struggling for so many years to get pregnant, I am so thankful for the two blessings that God has given me. I cannot imagine my life without them.

Zachary & Tyler 7 months old
Here they are making a big mess on my floor!Hi everyone, thanks to my good friend Kelli, I have started a blog. I will admit right up front that I have no idea what I am doing, so this could be interesting! My goal is to update this regularly so that I can easily share pictures with you as the boys grow. I cannot believe that Zachary and Tyler will be 8 months old in a few days! It seems as though they were just born yesterday. They are the absolute joys of my life. I am so blessed. Zachary has 2 teeth and is crawling and takes the world head-on. He is such a flirt and will smile at anyone! Tyler is a bit more reserved with the smiles, but is the most easy-going baby ever! He is just starting to crawl and still has no teeth. He loves to bounce! He never tires of it!
